Premier Wildlife Viewing & Grizzly Bear Safaris

Tweedsmuir Park Lodge is one of the best places in the world to see grizzly bears in their natural habitat. From August to October, the annual salmon run draws large numbers of grizzlies to the riverbanks, creating once-in-a-lifetime bear viewing opportunities. Guests can observe these majestic animals from the lodge’s private wildlife viewing platform or while floating silently on the river during a grizzly bear drift tour.

Other wildlife frequently spotted in the area include:

  • Black bears, moose, deer, and mountain goats
  • Eagles, hawks, and other birds of prey (year-round)

Accommodation: 12 cozy units, including 2 suites, 8 chalets, and 1 duplex, offering a range of accommodations for single, double, and triple occupancy. Starlink internet throughout the property, ensuring seamless connectivity during their stay.

Wildlife Viewing: The annual salmon run from August to October draws grizzlies in large numbers. Guests can watch from our private viewing platform or on a walk or a drift tour. Other wildlife includes black bears, moose, deer, mountain goats, and eagles.

Activities: Bear viewing, river drifts, ecology walks, rainforest hikes, via ferrata, aerial tree canopy, low ropes course, geocaching, heli-hiking, First Nations cultural tours, and river fishing.

Access: 70-minute flight from Vancouver to Bella Coola, followed by a scenic 40-minute drive. Other options include a self-drive through stunning wilderness or a ferry from Vancouver Island.
