playful beluga whalesDays 1-7: Hudson Bay Odyssey with Churchill Wild

Explore the Palsa Bogs, Tundra Ponds, Taiga Forest and Hudson Bay Coastline on this Arctic wildlife portion of the journey. On your daily excursions you will roam the Cape Tatnam wildlife management area and study the denning activities of the polar bears. You will also view lots of other wildlife such as wolves and arctic hares. Impressive varieties of flora and fauna are abundant in this region as well. And your Arctic hideaway will be the newly renovated Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge. The ‘Tundra to Table’ cuisine is sure to be pleasing after a wonderful day of walking with polar bears!

Days 7-11: Wild West of Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort

Next stop: Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort. After a three hour flight to Vancouver a private plane will whisk you off to Siwash. It’s time to learn ranching. Allyson and her team will match you up with the perfect horse and give you confidence to ride the stunning scenery of the Cariboo. Off the horses, there are plenty of other activities such as fishing, shooting, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, garden and foraging tours, spa treatments, outdoor yoga…to name a few! Or perhaps you will just want to sit back on the porch and soak up cowboy country or spend some some time in the spa tent. Meals are always a wonderful adventure; the chef has Michelin starred training under his belt!

Travel by private seaplane to Bella Coola. The next portion of the journey takes place in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, BC’s largest protected park and it also boasts the highest concentration of grizzly bears in North America. Over the next three days you will enjoy river drifts, scenic hikes, fishing, exploration of First Nations culture, and view petroglyphs that are 10,000 years old. And of course it is bear season so you will see many grizzlies with your expert guides! We will also do a day of heli-hiking in the gorgeous Ape Lake area; the heart of the Coastal range.

Days 14-20: Search for the Spirit Bear aboard the Pacific Yellowfin

Experience another private seaplane. This time we are heading for a very special place on the coast, the majestic Great Bear Rainforest where the magnificent Pacific Yellowfin awaits. The swirling waters of the Pacific will be your sanctuary, a space once only occupied by Hollywood luminaries. Apart from its renowned beauty and rich First Nations history, the Great Bear Rainforest is home to the elusive Spirit Bear and other abundant wildlife. Bear and whale viewings will not disappoint! There is no better way to tour this area than aboard the antique Pacific Yellowfin. And the crab feast night is guaranteed to be one of the best meals of your life!

Days 20-23: Find Yourself at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort

Bid farewell to the Yellowfin and zoom again in your private seaplane to the dock of Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort, your home for the next three nights. You will enjoy a wide variety of activities, all focused on highlighting this glorious region. Adventurous guests have the chance to go paddle boarding, kayaking and heli hiking in remote locations, surrounded by wildlife and awe-inspiring scenery. Or kick back in the comfort of our fully enclosed boat, sip a glass of wine, and listen to your guide’s entertaining stories and knowledge of the area. Finish your evenings wrapped up in warm blankets, listening to the snap and crackle of the fire. Star gaze as you share in music and stories on our floating fire dock. Take a deep breath; be humbled by the sublime paradise that is Nimmo.

Day 24: Vancouver Bound

You hear the hum of your seaplane off in the distance; soon, the scenic flight to Vancouver. It will take all your strength to leave this place. With renewed spirit, you linger a few more moments on the dock. One last look, and your soul will be fully charged; you are forever changed.
